Dato’ Awang Kamaruddin bin Abdul Ghani

Dato’ Awang, age 69, joined IFP Advisors Group and was appointed as the Group Advisor. Dato’ Awang is primarily a consultant in equestrian sport. He is very active in this sport, representing Malaysia in equestrian and polo competitions and has won numerous prizes, the most recent being a gold medalist in the Kuala Lumpur SEA Games 2001 and World Endurance Champion for 2001. Dato Awang is the FEI World Rider for the Year 2001 and was also inducted into the hall of fame for the Malaysian Olympic Council in 2013 for his immense contributions towards equestrian sports in Malaysia. He is a founding member and past president of the Malaysian Equestrian Association; founding member and vice president of the Malaysian Endurance Riding Society; Committee Member of Selangor Turf Club and also held committee positions in various equestrian and polo clubs. As a consultant, Dato’ Awang has designed, built and managed the Bukit Kiara Resort Bhd which is an authorized British Horse-Riding Centre. He was previously the Executive Director of Bukit Kiara Resort Bhd, the Chairman of Gadang Bhd, the Vice-Chairman of LBS Bina Group Bhd and sat on the Boards of other private limited companies. Dato’ Awang has a combined experience of over 20 years in property development in Malaysia.
